As long as these things aren't forced on you, I couldn't care less. If it's bonus content than by all means, it's better than nothing.
MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising
i honestly don't see anything wrong with that, would those guys complaining prefer Kojima to release $15 map packs instead? I'm sure MGS fans are a smarter bunch, PeaceWalker sales will be hampered by piracy and these promotions might actually help them turn a profit.
It's hilarious and a day one buy for me. I love Kojima. Look at the intent people.

it seems that the only ones complaining are the people who aren't interested or doesn't even like MGS.

Kojima has done some great things in video games that I really appreciate. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until it starts hurting game quality. For instance, I heard the Monster Hunter cameo is some kind of bonus content and is not part of the games actual story. |
The Monster Hunter stuff actually sounds awesome, since it's a tie-in with another game, and affects gameplay. Snake's been in 2 games outside of his own franchise as well so I kind of expect those hijinx from him. I always like the wacky cross-overs, like Final Fantasy characters playing basketball with Nintendo characters and whatnot.
But Mountain Dew is disgusting. It gives people "Mountain Dew Mouth." Halo's Mountain Dew Gamer Fuel was bad enough. I don't know why anybody would want to advertise for that stuff in a video game, especially in a game franchise about giant evil corporations.

I would've complained whoever it was. But his explanation was what really bothered me. "Surprise! An Axe Body Spray T-Shirt!" Yuck.
