Neither of those two. Heavy Rain is great but I consider it a borrow/rent rather than a buy.

I'm not saying FF13 is bad but I can't endorse you buying it.

I'd go with a safe bet like Uncharted 2 for your first game and go from there.

If you want the best bang for your buck, I would suggest purchasing any of the following:

Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, God of War Collection, Final Fantasy XIII, Modern Warfare 2 or Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and DEFINITELY Demon's Souls.
