I would say not, for two reasons. One, because that would be a "copy" off of Microsoft and Natal, and we all know Nintendo hates to imitate. Two, because they can effectively pull off the same thing with a single camera anyways, especially since there are supposed to be accelerometers in the 3DS, effectively assisting the cameras in motion sensing. |
Wrong.
Having two camera's facing the player would mean the ability to take 3D photo's which I'm pretty sure isn't available elsewhere.

First off, there was absolutely nothing incorrect about what I said in the least. I was specifically referring to what he was referring to. "Augmented reality" involves headtracking and motion sensing, both of which can be done 100% with accelerometers and the DSi's already-present two cameras. I said absolutely nothing about other features.
Second, Natal utilizes two cameras facing the player. I'm pretty sure that means it can do exactly what you're talking about, which absolutely means it IS available elsewhere. Just because Natal hasn't been advertised as being able to do it doesn't mean it can't. The entire premise behind Natal is the two camera system. Now, since the cameras are so close to each other, you're not going to get very MUCH 3D out of it, but that doesn't mean it's not still possible.
