There are already plains all over the place that can be built on. Why cut down dense forest to do it? Also we can build UP. Not just OUT.

And it is nothing like a Komodo Dragon. Komodo Dragons get longer, weigh 150+ pounds. And eat meat(They have been known to hunt, kill, and eat humans.) Dragons also live in the ground, these in trees.
