LOL The Wii is the highest selling console in japan and has almost no games, i expected nintendo to announce a few (kirby wii anyone?), but nothing except release dates for three games.. wow
Nintendo thats just embarassing as the console with the highest userbase in japan..
3rd partys are the ones to blame, but nintendo has to do something to make them develop more games for wii, the NSMB Wii boost wont last forever

@Soriku: Well yeah, they are going to need games, like always. But when are we actually hearing about them???? you said wait till later in the year and we are in the fourth month and we haven't heard of anything new from 3rd parties.

I mean, only Nintendo is that secretive, I doubt 3rd parties have a lot coming up but don't want to show it.

For the second half we officially know Metroid Other M is coming. Of course Zelda and Wii vitality are coming too I would guess. 3rd party games, not so much. MH3G, it will probably come out some time, but not next to MHP3 which comes in Q3, so I guess next year. IEBreak, I don't know, IE3 is coming out this year too and they haven't ever talked about IEBreak, not even mentioned it was a Wii game, so we don't know if it's coming or not.

I still think this could be Wii's last year in Japan. They've got all their big guns coming this year and 3rd parties don't bother anymore.

@Soriku: I missed that. Well, looks like it's coming after all, that's GREAT news for the Wii. It very much needs support right now. Hopefully it's for this year.

I agree last year was wrong. I meant last year as the only Nintendo home console. I totally expect a new console to be released next year.

Remember when last year I said that there was probably a new handheld coming out this year because of the lack of 1st party DS games scheduled for 2010. Nintendo is going all in with the Wii this year, I doubt they will have much left for next year.

I guess this means a full E3 reveal for Xenoblade along with release date.

Wii has tons of games, just nobody buys them. It's very tricky to sell to the Wii market, particularly in Japan.

PS3 owners just tend to gobble up more of what is thrown out there, so its games appear on the charts more often.

I do agree Wii could use some more games for the first half of the year in Japan, but it's also had a decent amount of games released already. Consoles in general don't get many releases in Japan these days anyway. Console gaming is dwindling there.

I hope an NA release date comes soon.
