i love complex plots, Planescape Torment being the perfect example, as long as they make sense!

This, Planescape Torment has the best story and writing ever in a videogame.

Now, some games are just convoluted and completely terrible. Xenogears, MGS2 and Xenosaga have terrible writing and mediocre stories. None of those are deep at all.

A lot of people will disagree with you on this one.

A lot of others will agree.

I watched yesterday this movie (won the 2010 Oscar for best foreign movie - should have won the Best Movie award, but anyway)

Seriously, it's impossible to say Xenogears or MGS2 or Final Fantasy [insert number here] have "great stories" after watching that movie. Or any game for that matter. Want to make a test, go watch that movie and see if you can say it.

But we are talking about games here.

I know, but games now are a lot of mini-movies filled with gameplay parts between them.

But what I'm saying is games are so behind in storytelling they're like nothing compared to movies like this.So I stick with gameplay and simple stories and get my fix on "superb" (not kidding, go watch that movie :) ) stories elsewhere.

When they work and are justified.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Maybe I'll take your advice.

I'll send you your ticket/rental money back if you don't like it! :)

I like plot twists, like in The Prestige(movie, I recommend), but not over the top ones. It should just leave you with a surprised face and make you think "Holy Shit!"

Kingdom Hearts is confusing as shit half of the time.

And it's my favorite game series ever.

How in the world is Kingdom Heart's storyline complex in any way that you would be confused? It had a very simple storyline.

Let's see.....

If you think about the details, they make no sense. Why does the Organization have Kingdom Hearts when it's the heart of all words, not a bunch of hearts gathered together? Why the hell does the Riku replica have emotions? Why does Namine? Why do artificial heartless release hearts but not pureblood? Why the hell is Xemnas evil? Why does Riku change back to his normal self? And then there's all the shit with BbS's storyline that make no sense, but I can't spoit it.

KH2 is a game that isn't complex, but still doesn't make sense! Quite an achivement if you ask me :P

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

OMGOMGOMG

SOMEONE ELSE SAW THAT MOVIE!

Mind blowing plot twists, especially the one right at the end

man the movie had me gripped the whole time.....and it had scarlett johansson.....what a perfect combo

Too bad Nolan North didn't make a movie that good again (& don't say TDK).

I hate complex plots. If I wanted a deep story with strong characterization, I'd read literature. If I wanted a 'cinematic' experience with ridiculous plot twists, I'd watch a movie. I play games to have fun. Games are not books or movies, nor should they try to be.

Wii has more 20 million sellers than PS3 has 5 million sellers.

Acolyte of Disruption

Nope, because they are not made by truly professional writers.

Almost every time, it just comes out convoluted, and there is some philosophical crap thrown in there "just because".
