Forums - Sony - Sony: Killzone 2 not going 3D

Doesnt K2 already run in a much too low framerate anyway?

Edit: Sorry, that was a bit short and sharp. My point is that the majority of games, including Killzone 2 I believe aim to have a framerate of about 30, but it occasionally drops below this if a lot is on screen. This is a tradeoff to allow more graphical effects than the same devs could get if the game ran at 60 fps. Now most gamers are willing to accept 30 fps, but I doubt many would accept 15. (I personally consider 59 fps or lower to be undersirable and would prefer the resolution or amount of effects to be dropped instead)

oh snap

they did show GDC stuff and mentioned LBP KZ2 and other games as in "Whats to come for ps3 in 3D"

but most importantly this episode of Qore also had lots of info about 3D Dot Game Heroes aside from new info, they did also mention that " if you feel that you have played this game before " thats because "Pays Homage for the Nintendo's popular franchise , The Legend of Zelda"

Does 3D really matter that much?

Makes sense... why would they do it to Killzone 2 when Killzone 3 is set to come out.

Around the Network

Um wtf?

Then why did the episode say "THE FOLLOWING TITLES ARE CONFIRMED TO SUPPORT 3D GAMING BY THE END OF 2010"

...?

How do you know there coming out with a killzone 3? Wasn't killzone 2 a bust? Don't get me wrong,I loved the game, but wasn't it a disappointment in sales?

KZ2 sold well over 2 million copies, and SONY already confirmed that KZ3 is definately happening..

They spent a lot of time developing the engine. It sold enough to not be a bust. Investing in an Engine AND an IP makes a lot of sense. SONY will release a Killzone 3. Especially with their focus on 3-D and the fact that every third movie of a trilogy lately is marketed as the movie title 3-D.

Also disappointment for people on the internet vs. disappointment for SONY are two different things.
