You can use some virtual Visa-s to pay for PSN US. Also PSN cards can be bought online with code emailed to you.

We got official support in Russia, but forced to register in UK and US, becasue of lack of content here. For instance you can not buy Fallout 3 DLC in Russian Store or RB2 music.

Goverments should really work out some globalisation laws for internet shopping. All this region restrictions are stupid.

er.. how do you do that? :P that's quite.. interesting.

I'm going to the Phillips sometime this year. I can only imagine how much it cost for a PS3 there with the import tax, and what not. Do you guys have XBox Live there?

Nope.  Closest place that does is Singapore.

XBL has much less official support in smaller markets than PSN.  Total number of countries that have access to XBL is 26, compared to 56 for PSN.

The 360 hasn't even officially launched in the Philippines, let alone XBL.

remarkably, if you know where to look, a 120g cost about 15,200 Php or roughly $325 US. New games such as GOW3 cost about 2850 Php or about $60 US.

better than Australia i think

you're shopping in the wrong places mate. i can get a ps3 now for like 14,000 and i recently bought god of war 3 for 1,900.

I was going to make some sort of joke about old US imperial ambitions in the Philippines, but I can't think of one....

So, I'll vote yes.

I don't think the PS3 will be officially supported by Filipinos, until it becomes widely accessible to pirates. When I was in the Philippines 2 years ago, that's all I saw, pirated games.

Nevertheless, I will consider signing your petition. I am not 100% on that though. The last time I took part in one of your campaigns for a cause, I was slapped upside my head by trashleg. One way to truley get me to sign your petition, is if you can show me a picture of a little monkey from the Philippines sucking on a Filipino guy's nipple. o_O

Ohh yeah, I just got this e-mail this morning. BE CAREFUL

U.S. Embassy Manila

Warden Message

April 5, 2010

THE EMBASSY OF THE UNITED STATES IS TRANSMITTING THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION THROUGH THE EMBASSY WARDEN SYSTEM AS A PUBLIC SERVICE TO AMERICAN CITIZENS IN THE PHILIPPINES.  PLEASE DISSEMINATE THIS MESSAGE TO ALL U.S. CITIZENS IN YOUR ORGANIZATION OR NEIGHBORHOOD.  THANK YOU.

TRAVEL WARNING

PHILIPPINES

The State Department warns U.S. citizens of the risks of travel to the southern Philippine islands of Mindanao and the Sulu Archipelago, and urges extreme caution if traveling there.  Sporadic violence throughout the Philippines is also possible before and after the May 10 national and local elections and the June 30 inaugurations.  This replaces the Travel Warning dated September 17, 2009, to reflect continuing threats due to terrorist and insurgent activities, as well as possible concerns about election related violence.

Travelers should exercise extreme caution if traveling in the central and western portions of the island of Mindanao, as well as in the islands of the Sulu Archipelago.  Regional terrorist groups have carried out bombings resulting in injuries and death.  Since August 2008, sporadic clashes have occurred between lawless groups and the Philippine Armed Forces in the Mindanao provinces of North Cotabato, Lanao del Sur and Lanao del Norte, as well as the Sulu Archipelago.

Kidnap-for-ransom gangs are active throughout the Philippines and have targeted foreigners.  U.S. Government employees must seek special permission for travel to Mindanao or the Sulu Archipelago.  Travelers to these areas should remain vigilant and avoid congregating in public areas.  Some foreigners who reside in or visit Mindanao and the Sulu Archipelago hire their own security.

The Philippine government declared a state of emergency on November 24, 2009, for the two provinces of Maguindanao and Sultan Kudarat, as well as Cotabato City, as a result of election-related violence.  This state of emergency is still in effect.  Travelers should be aware of heightened police activity and significant military presence in these areas.  They should carefully research restrictions imposed upon travel and follow the instructions of government officials with regard to limitations on movement.

U.S. citizens traveling, living, and working throughout the Philippines are urged to exercise heightened caution in public gathering places where events may occur in relation to the May 2010 Philippine elections and June inauguration.  In past election years, deaths have occurred because of election-related violence, even in the period of time following election dates and inauguration ceremonies.  U.S. citizens should exercise caution when traveling in the vicinity of demonstrations since they can turn confrontational and possibly escalate to violence.

The Department of State remains concerned about the continuing threat of terrorist actions and violence against U.S. citizens and interests throughout the world.  The Worldwide Caution reminds U.S. citizens that terrorism can occur anywhere.

The Department strongly encourages U.S. citizens in the Philippines to register with the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Manila through the State Department’s travel registration website.  The U.S. Embassy is located at: 1201 Roxas Boulevard, Manila, Philippines, the 24-hour telephone number is 63-2-301-2000. The American Citizens Services (ACS) section’s fax number is 63-2-301-2017 and the ACS web page can be accessed online.

For information on general crime and security issues, U.S. citizens should also consult the Department of State’s Country Specific Information for the Philippines and the Worldwide Caution, located at the Department of State’s Bureau of Consular Affairs website.  U.S. citizens may also obtain up-to-date information on security conditions by calling 1-888-407-4747 from the United States and Canada, or 202-501-4444 from overseas.

I could GOW3 for less than 1,900 but used. i can also get a ps3 for lower than 14,000 but if the price is that low, i tend to question the "authenticity" of the product, could be a shoudy deal :P

as for the online CC, i found this a while back and i'm not sure if its still a viable option

Entropay WORKS. If you have a valid credit card, you can use it as a source of your funding for your virtual credit card. You must "associate" it to your psn account as instructed above. But this time ofcourse, you put in the virtual credit card details instead. The address, on the other hand can be any valid US address.

Basics :

1. Use Internet Explorer and Go to Entropay site http://www.entropay.com/ and get an entropay card. Use your credit card's TRUE details in order to register
2. Once you get your new Entropay Virtual card, load it up with the minimum amount at the least
3. Go to your PS3's XMB--Account Management--and associate your Entropay Card in Billing information. Use the details of your Entropay Virtual Card for this one, and when asked for the billing address, use any valid US billing address
4. It should work now

Please take note that when loading your virtual credit card, ensure that the amount is slightly higher than the one you are purchasing.

Example
You want to purchase a 20.99 game. Load your psn entropay virtual cc with 21.99.

This will ofcourse result into a higher cost when purchasing psn games due to the 4.95 percent charge of entropay in using their service. For 20dollars, that's 1 dollar more. Expensive PSN cards should now be a secondary choice

Due to recent developments about consoles being banned, do not worry. As long as you pay your credit card bills due to psn transactions, you should have no worries

I would highly suggest that once successfully associated, dont remove it anymore. You may never have this kind of opportunity again. Please note, that this does not work on R2 PSN.

1. Yup, I can confirm that. Do NOT go to Mindanao.

2 Kidnap-for-ransom gangs usually target chinese businesss men more oftne than not plus its more rampant during election season, my take is "the candidates need campain funds, sooooooo.......you get the idea"

3. True, but mostly in Mindanao, stay in manila and the neighboring provinces and you should be fine

yes thats true, funny thing is, if you ask one of the many people buying pirated games why they buy pirated games they'd go like "what pirated games?" as they think that the pirated games are "real games" and real legbit games are just  over  priced coz their sold in legit establishments

same for the psp, you ask, whre do you buy your umds and they'll ago "what umd?" nyahaha! they you say, "you know, your games". then they go, "oh, kung saan kami ng papa-memory" which translates to "oh, you mean where we get our downloaded/uploaded games" as the vast majority of the psps run on CFW

as for the monkey, hows about a picutre of Pokwang instead? LOL
