I'm pretty sure the Saturn was one of the worse (if not the worst) selling of Sega's consoles. The Genesis and Master System defiitely sold at least 5M in Japan. |
- MegaDrive: 3,580,000
- Game Gear: 1,780,000
- Mega CD: 400,000
- Sega Saturn: 5,900,000
- Dreamcast: 2,450,000
...Saturn was by a wide margin Sega's most successful platform in Japan. I've never seen SG1000 or Mark III (ie: Master System) sales though, but they can't have been much.
Other sub 10m hardware sales...
- PC Engine: 3,920,000
- PC Engine CD-ROM2: 1,920,000
- PC-FX: 400,000
- Famicom Disc-System: 4,440,000
- Virtual Boy: 140,000
- Nintendo 64: 5,540,000
- GameCube: 4,040,000
- Neo*Geo: 1,000,000
- Neo*Geo CD: 25,000 (might not include CD-Z?)
- Neo*Geo Pocket: 550,000
- WonderSwan: 3,000,000
- Xbox: 550,000
- Xbox 360: 1,280,000+
