I think 10 million will be as far as it'll get. What they really need is a monster hunter game on the PS3.

Probably all except the Microsoft ones.

It took just over 3 years to reach 5 M, not 4 yrs. It launched Nov/06.

Nah,  I think from Sega as an example only the Saturn hit more than 5 million (not sure though) and I don't know if N64 and GC sold more than 5 million aswell..

It is nice to know so you can make milestones :).

edit:  the N64 did (almost) 5,4 million in Japan.

I'm pretty sure the Saturn was one of the worse (if not the worst) selling of Sega's consoles.  The Genesis and Master System defiitely sold at least 5M in Japan. 

because it's an average.  Yes people aren't buying .89 of a game but out of 100 people 89 have 4 games and 11 have 3 but then again that too is ais just aplying the average since some might have 10 games or 20.  Rounding up wouldn't be very helpful because it wouldn't mean much since you would loose acuray of what it means.  What would the difference between 3.59 games and 3.89 games be if it's all rounded up.  When that is a difference of a few million games.

I remember one poster saying a year or two back "It [PS3] will be lucky to Reach 5 million Lifetime in Japan."

Things aren't that easy to predict this gen.
