^look at the detail and action in vanquish compared to alan wake. |
Got a better ingame shot from Alan Wake, Akan Wakes detail is exceptional. They are close though.

After reading some previews, they have said AW is technically generationally gorgeous.
I wonder if Vanquish will have 4xMSAA? Hopefully they dont go for the QSAA or MLAA. Dont like blurred textures. Although I'd prefer MLAA to QSAA. Blurrs textures still via it's Colour blend method, but hurts games less than QSAA.
Looks good. I'm not ready to make any overarching statements about it but it does look good. But still don't know if I fully want this game yet, but Mr. Mikami has never let me down yet.
Look ok, nothing to go crazy about yet. Why am I not seeing this greatness in visuals that Alan Wake has that you see. The environment are impressive, but that's about it. Maybe I will change my mind when I see actual gameplay.

Well it's not just me, so dont single me out. :)
"To be clear, none of the existing Xbox 360 games even compares to it, and even on PS3, which have more real exclusive titles, it's hard to find an equivalent. Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, Crysis, these are the few games which can compete with it. Whether it's the real-time projected shadows produced by the essential flashlight (those were obviously missing in Condemned 1 & 2), the total absence of aliasing (720p 4x FSAA), the breathtaking realistic lighting effects, the huge size of certain levels, SSAO, the atmospheric effects, the humongous size of some moving objects, the vegetation which interacts with characters and wind, or the largely satisfying framerate (with a light tearing that should disappear in the retail version) and many other physical and graphical effects, Alan Wake never ceases to amaze you with relative ease."

AW is overhyped for the graphics imo :S at least that's how I feel from what I have seen so far...
So far this game looks good and with such a long ass time to go until it's release it will get better, I think just maybe crysis, UC2 and GOW3 will have a good competitor for the graphical power
