i always did this actually, my main systems were always Playstation but after prices cuts i buy the other ones for the exclusives.

i am getting the Wii mainly for The Last Story, but also i get to play the other great games

well gratz on your upcomming purchase.  I found that I was dissappointed in many of the games i bought for my wii but here are ones i can recommend without any reservations.

  • Mario kart
  • Metroid prime trilogy
  • Mario galaxy
  • Zelda TP
  • Smash Brothers
  • Mario Strikers Charged
  • New Super Mario Bros Wii
  • Fire Emblem: Radiant dawn

Notable games I was dissapointed in

  • Zack and Wiki (hey, at least I sold it for ~$14 profit)
  • Sambe De Amigo (got it for $15, so not bad, but controls aren't tight enough for hard dificulties)
  • Shaun White Snowbording (fun game if you have a BB, not worth it otherwise)
  • Mario Party 8 (fun and I played it a ton, but doesn't have great motion controlled games, nor 16:9)
  • Okami (good game, but gamebreaking gameplay most of the way through as you have to memorize and quickly click like 7 points, to top it off, there is too much story which drags on at the end, and makes the beginning boring)

My take on the list. There are a lot of other great games too (like trauma center, or LKS), but there are plenty of threads for finding good Wii games.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
In the past we played games. In the future we watch games. - Forest-Spirit

buy a wii straight away, why not

if you can afford it,i'd say it's worth it

i don't want to buy it then after a couple of months something better comes out (like what happened with my ipod)

E3 is in june...

there is a new ipod every single year, even if you don't know what the new one is you should expect an upgrade shortly after the purchase any apple product.

The wii HD is a myth, it just ain't coming any time soon.  all the rumors of a new nintendo hardware is pretty much played itself out with the announcement of the 3DS.  if you want a wii, just go ahead and get one.

the 360 on the otherhand looks like it will get a revision soon.  might be worth while holding out for E3 just to see, i mean, that's not that far from now anyways.

i know, but i didn't know that when i bought the Ipod (i'm talking about the first generation Ipod )

okay then i'm getting a Wii today or tommorow =]

well gratz on your upcomming purchase.  I found that I was dissappointed in many of the games i bought for my wii but here are ones i can recommend without any reservations.

mario kart

metroid prime trilogy

mario galaxy

zack and wiki

zelda TP

smash brothers

boom blox

Notable games I was dissapointed in

de blob

madworld

new super mario brothers

no more heroes

samba

shaun white snowbording

wii fit

wii sports resort

wii play (really, it's not even worth $10)

i played the bolded, NMH is a good game though a bit overrated, the humor is a big part of its appeal but the gameplay is repetitive.

Well every game is that, from sports games to D&D to video games, it's just if it's fun for you but the combo system could have been a little more indepth to make sure people had more moves to use and have fun with lol

MaxwellGT2000 - "Does the amount of times you beat it count towards how hardcore you are?"

Wii Friend Code - 5882 9717 7391 0918 (PM me if you add me), PSN - MaxwellGT2000, XBL - BlkKniteCecil, MaxwellGT2000

I had a PS3 since launch and I was happy with that, then I decided to buy a Wii and 360 2 years later, now I can't juggle the games I play. I used my Wii once to play No More Heroes and now it sits on my shelf. The 360 I got more use out of by playing a bunch of exclusives (Fable 2, Gears, Mass Effect etc) then once they were done I found myself going back to my PS3. I haven't touched my Wii or 360 in like 2 month's, while my PS3 is used every day.

I recommend picking just one, if you get two you won't be able to give their line ups the time they deserve.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

That's what I did last gen - nothing but Gamecube for three or four years, then got a PS2 and an Xbox and ended up playing a lot of great games anyway.

I guess I went multiplat too early this generation.

I would suggest getting both in the near future as long as you have money, however I would wait on the 360 at least until after E3. With all these rumors flying around about a 360 slim I know I personally would hold off just to see if its true.

U should wait, its not like they will stop selling the games u want to buy for the wii and 360 anytime soon, so u have nothing to lose by waiting.

there's always something better coming along, you have to jump on sometime,

especially if you have the money for it,

like you say the last story and there are some other good story adventure games on the wii, which i can't think of at the mo and silent hill

i'd buy an xbox360 for alan wake if i had the cash, though

i only have a b/c PS3 and i've paid for it to be fixed already so spent enough on consoles and am a big hd movie fan so that takes up the rest of my dosh

i have a pc too,so it's enough for me at the moment, gaming wise

Now thats not true, Its such a joy not going through the pain of watching one console get a game that I really want and not able to play it

Its best getting multi consoles, and enjoying what each one has to offer

Look at my collection for the current generation and look at how many awesome games are just missing from each system

My heart aches!
