OK, what i'm getting from this thread is:

- PS3 owners who use the browser, like it.

- PS3 users that don't use the browser, don't like it.

- Xbox owners don't like it and are pleased they can't browse the net on their TV using their 360.

Nothing is going to change the results of this argument by continuing it.

people use it because the thing is bundled with windows XP and they don't know better, IE 6 it's a nightare for HTML standartization, it needs to die, and thanks to firefox and chrome it's finally happening.

In some situations having nothing is better than having crap (as stated by Xoj). Why else would sony take it down.

to be honest it would be a nice addition to the 360 but it would most likely be restricted in use...

anyway if I need a guide for something I just screen print it and save it as a jpeg and upload it to usb stick.. whack it into the 360 and view it from there.

Also Sony and a few other companies are now bringing out new TVs with built in internet so I guess 360 can stay as it is..

I'd rather have a poor browser than not have one at all.

PS3 browser gets used quite a lot for catchup.tv, downloading themes and stuff and the odd bits of porn now and again. If I had to lose one console I'd sell my xbox in a heartbeat, turn on xbox - play games...... Turn on playstation - play games, watch films, surf net, watch TV, listen to music and more.

to have a "gets the job done" browser or to not have any at all. hmm... its a tough one. i use the web browser quite a bit, and i dont have any problems with it since my expectations really arent that high, nor should they. its just an extra feature thats free, what's to complain about? the sad thing is: it doesnt even crash as much as internet explorer. its pretty pathetic that MS would bitch about a feature PS3 has and 360 doesnt, yup its pathetic, but not surprising. yea everyone has a PC that they can use to internet browse, so what's the benefit of using it on ps3? well in case ur pc is being used and u wanna do a quick search, or if ur like me, u can enter the wonderful world of porn while in the comfort of my own bed, oh yes, i said it, and its awesome
