Forums - Nintendo - Monster Hunter 3 = 9 from Nintendo Power, Red Steel = 8

MH3 is a game that will get scores all across the board because some reviewers will think the controls, camera and lack of lock on are a defect while other reviewers will "get" the reasons for the controls, the camera and the lack of lock on.

Monster Hunter 3tri- is perfect.

No matter what they say.

There's almost no excuse for reviewers to give this game anything less than a 9. It has free online, voice chat, great graphics, and a shit load of content.

Even the camera control has been improved over the PSP games due to the second analog stick on the classic controller.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

Wasn't there a surprise game in this issue of Nintendo Power?
I remember something like this announced last month? Anyone knows what was the "secret" game?

Nintendo power always gives the highest scores. I expect all the scores for other sites be in the 8's

Maybe - that will be a good "test" for reviewers though, any reviewer that will give this game a lower score than MH Freddom Unite basically outs themselves.

As to anyone expecting scores for MH3 to be all 9s, check out the metacritic for Freedom Unite - average is 81. And MH3 already has 2 scores within metacritic, both below 90, one very low one stupidly enough of the import JP version... (stupdily because it is not an identical version).

I agree it shouldn't be on metacritic, but as a written review its actually really really good

Sure, I didn't mean the review was stupid, just that it was stupid to include it. There will anyway be other low score reviews for this game (same as there were some for MHFU), just this one shouldn't have been included.
