I saw an add on Spike TV as well. Compared to most Wii games, this is getting some decent advertising. I'm expecting this game to sell 200k - 500k LTD
Anything less will be very disappointing

I saw this on the Nintendo Channel. I really like this video. I'm glad they used this for advertisment.

Er...no. How about...ANY advertisement budget?
With that said, I have seen a couple ads for Red Steel 2 on the air.
i've seen some online, but surprisingly I've seen a decent amount on tv as well
not as much as a lot of other games but it's def there

Are you serious? Advertising is especially important to games that doesn't have a defined audience. You know whats the most popular game out this gen? COD:MW2. Do you know how much advertising it got? Call of Duty cost $40 million to $50 million to produce, people close to the project said, about as much as a mid-size film. Including marketing expenses and the cost of producing and distributing discs, the launch budget was $200 million, on par with a summer popcorn movie -- and extremely high for a video game. It got $200 F'ING MILLION!!! You shouldn't need to advertise that much when its already freaking established multi-years in a row. I bet all the 3rd party games on the wii had a combined developing budget less than that. |
A few wii games are more popular than COD

well, if you've seen a few ads then red steel 2 got an advertising budget didn't it. near as i can tell it got a better ad budget then a lot of HD releases actually. so when the OP and first couple of replies to this thread are trying to create image that red steel isn't getting any ads and already getting ready to flame ubisoft for a lack of committment to their wii games...well i just find them silly.
As far as advertising goes, I didn't even realize this game was out until I saw it on a torrent site. (Don't worry, I bought it legally instead of using the torrent.)
