one day ago 3.20 is done for the debug, but yet the retail is getting 3.21...in what 2 more day's..yea their going to skip 3.20..

Recently we saw some pictures and details on the PS3 Debug Firmware 3.20 update, and today it's available to download alongside the official changelog for those with PS3 Test consoles!

Changes from the PS3 Debug Firmware 3.20 Update ReadMe File include:

New Features - System Software (GUI)
• The resolution for 3D video output has been supported. In this release, the 3D rendering is supported by the following features:
• Features that support the 3D rendering:
• Features that the system displays such as the system software that is displayed when the PS button is pressed during gameplay(GUI), or notification or error messages displayed on the upper right on the screen
• Features that do not support the 3D rendering: System utilities that are explicitly called by game applications such as the save data

Note that the display may be corrupted in all GUIed system utilities when the 3D resolution is set.

Menu of the System Software (GUI)
• [Settings] -> [Debug Settings] -> [3D Video Output]: [Automatic]/On

Do not use this menu item because it is only available on the devkit.

Specification Changes - Check menu in the Game column
• The following specification changes have been mage in the check that is available from the Check menu in the Game column:
• It is now allowed to mix a library for SDK320 and a library for SDK310.
• It now warns if the SDK version of the SPU is smaller than that of the PPU.
• The automatic setting feature now supports the resolution for the 3D video output through Display Settings -> Video Output Settings. To output a 3D video, make sure to set the Display settings again.

Also, do not forget to select "HDMI" for the TV terminal and "Automatic" for the resolution from the Display Settings.

No, not you. The other one.

If you use your PS3 for linux then I don't see a problem with what Geo hut is doing. Its gonna take him a few weeks at least to try and make a custom fireware update for the PS3. How many people who use there PS3's for gaming is going to stay offline for that amount of time. Also is Geohut gonna keep making custom Firewares for the PS3 everytime Sony releases a firmware for the PS3.

If what I understand GeoHot to be doing is correct: that he is going to try to find a way for people who want it to keep OtherOS on their phats and still have full functionality of their PS3s, then if that's illegal the law is morally wrong not him.

If what he is doing is not either directly aiding and abetting software piracy, or potentially leading to the unwanted malicious invasion of people's PS3s then he is fine doing what he's doing as far as I'm concerned. And it seems the hack he's aiming for is allowing people to keep what they already had, and what they thought they'd always have. Yet people seem to be painting him as the villain and Sony as the innocent. OK he may be an attention whore, but on this he's no villain.

Perhaps his initial hack of the PS3 had the potential to maybe one day eventually lead to a thriving PS3 game piracy black market, but there is no clear evidence that his initial hack would lead to any such thing. In fact it would appear that assessments of the usefulness of the hack came to the opposite conclusion.

So as far as I can tell, at this point not only what he's seeking to do isn't illegal, it isn't even clear that it's got the potential to lead to widespread actual illegal activity. Yet people are calling him a douche and wishing him to suffer from terminal flatulence or some equally unpleasant thing. How odd.

this. Seriously people here are getting way too upset with him. Its his damn PS3 and he wants his OtherOS functionality. Its not like hes pirating games on it so i dont see any problem with what he's trying to do. He has my full support
