Sounds pretty interesting, I hope the current testing has great results.

Combine holograms with the ultrsound force feedback and we are one step closer to virtual prostitutes. Then as futurama predicts, mankind as a species will be doomed.

I hope this has more uses than just military and they do it, sad thing, but thanks to war we have many things we can enjoy now.

My question... how did the British beat us to this? We've been wasting too much money on death lasers!
(We do have death lasers by the way.)

Just think, this technology with that optical camouflage that's being made in japan and that four legged walking robot thing in the US, and you got yourself one powerful weapon.

There are alternatives to copper-based shaped charge anti-tank rounds that might be loaded into heavy cannons, but I don't think you could find an easy replacement for the RPG as an infantry weapon. Foot soldiers who want to neutralize a tank would need an IED or some other, much more expensive weapon. |
Britian has basically decided (and I agree) that the wars of the future will be against third world countries, nothing like WW2 with a lot of tanks against tanks. If that is correct, then this could work very well against these RPG's.
Also, the tank would have to come with some onerous modifications to keep the soldiers from electrocuting themselves, or more likely, the soldiers will have to wear full rubber suits or whatever to avoid that. So, it's not going to be a perfect technology but it will really help out overall.
