I really don't know what you are trying to argue anymore.   I said it was discontinued in 1996, not launched in 1996.  It lasted 3 years.  It doesn't matter what the price was dropped to, it launched at $700.  Again, closer to $900 now with inflation. 

The PS3 has already outsold the 3DO's lifetime sales twice over, and certainly has many more good games.  There was no reason to try and make that comparison in this topic, and you are simply trolling for reasons to attack the PS3.  

Man I wanted one in the worst way but oh the price! I played some of those on PC. Rebal assault was ok but I was a Wing Commander nut loved all thoes games.

My cousins boguht a 3DO back in the day...had a 3DO party. Then they sold it like 3 months later.

Mad Dog II is a lightgun shooter on the 3DO that utilized the orange lightgun seen above.  The game utilizes full-motion video as opposed to rendered graphics like most famous lightgun shooters of our time.  While this gives a very nice visual effect and was reinforcement for Panasonic's claims that the 3DO was a true leap in gaming, it also has some major disadvantages.  The hit recognition is iffy at best, and it can be very frustrating.  The game has extensive voice acting (one of the earliest games to do so), but it's cheesey at the best moments and downright awful at the worst.  Overall, the game isn't awful, but it's nothing stellar in the lightgun shooter genre.  6/10
