Forums - Nintendo - Started Final Fantasy The Crystal Bearers. Have you played it yet?

Well, most of the reviews just blasted this game to the ground but since I enjoyed Final Fantasy X and XII on the PS2, I decided to give it a try anyway.  First things first, I was glad I got this game while traiding some of my oldest or finished games because the price tag is high (almost 50$).  Well, got it for 10$ after the trades.

So, I have just finished playing if for about an hour and I like it so far.  The characters are fun and the environments are beautiful.  Plus, I had a LOT of different things to do in my first hour of playing and none of it was akward or had bad controls.  It feels like a final fantasy game but without the depth.  This is most obvious when you get in the first city.  Nobody has anything to say.

But it moves fast.  So far anyway.  I will keep playing it and let you know what I think.  I like to try these games that got bad or mixed reviews.  Sometimes, they are not that bad, take Calling for instance.  A lousy 50 on Metacritic, but I am almost done with it and 8 hours later, still feel it is a good game.  And next in line is Fragile Dreams (68 on Metacritic).  This I CANNOT WAIT to get my hands on.

That's it.

Proud owner and supporter of the YAKUZA games!

You've been getting a lotta Wii games recently.
Lucky man!

It is a decent game. Nothing special, but it has the best Crystal Chronicles story.

yes i did and i liked it, the humor even though its silly, is great.

The battle system is meh... since you only lift stuff and throw them, its different but its not really "Battle" if you know what i mean.

also some parts drag on way too long, like when you ride with belle on a chocobo while being chased by guards.
also the english voices are nice, i didn't mind them.

in the end its really a fun game.

I live for the burn...and the sting of pleasure...
I live for the sword, the steel, and the gun...

- Wasteland - The Mission.

I wanted to check it out but never really heard much about it besides the reviews. It is still 50 everywhere here, so it is not cheap enough for me to take the chance.

Played it. It's okay. It has some appeal, and I can appreciate how they were trying to change things up and make it a very unique experience, but there were at least as many misses as hits, for me.
After finishing it, I tried to replay it, but just couldn't get back into it. Maybe in a few months, when it isn't so fresh in my mind.

i got it as soon as it hit gamestops shelfs. ive enjoyed it and have even convinced random people to buy it.

after you beat the game is a new game plus with different cutscenes if you care enough.

I havnt picked it up yet, but I definatly will

Fun and rather imaginative, though too short and had stability issues.

The real fun of it was in the free-range monster combat. Pitching Bombs at things, hijacking crystal cannons from robot monsters to snipe other enemies, or tricking one giant into nuking another with its laser vision. Brilliant stuff.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

It was a decent game... I'm about half way through and its got great graphics and a pretty interesting story but the controls are awful..
