Does it mean anything with regards to the ownership/business situation of VGC?

It's at the bottom left of every page on VGC, and following it has this: "The Guys Tribe is a network of websites, anchored by Spike.com. The Tribe includes some of the most exciting sites on the web, hand picked for their high quality content." The list below it includes VGChartz.

Apologies if there is some sort of thread/announcement on this already.

If I had to guess, I would guess that it's more like a webring.

Maybe... when was the last time you ever saw anybody use a web ring?
