He says, demos don't tell if a game is good or bad at all. He always makes fun of me for not trying a game because I didn't like the demo.

I say the demo is almost as good as playing the game because I get a feel of how the gameplay works, and they also usually show one of the best levels of the game in the demo. This doesn't work for multiplayer demos (They don't represent single player mode). So he thinks im a "dumbass" because I base a game off the demo.

I sometimes hate a demo and like the game when I buy the full version, so I don't really know what to say about that. I kinda agree with your friend.

The demo is a marketing tool - another form of advertising, the demo will try and hook you, perhaps be from a really good part of the game, or leave off on a big cliffhanger. If you don't like the demo, you probably won't like the game.

If it helps, I've probably put in at least 4 hours into the Just Cause 2 demo... I hadn't even heard of the game before, but now it's a definite buy.

I didn't play the Fracture demo, I bought the full game and now I just gave it dirty looks hoping I lower it's self esteem so that it makes an attempt to be better itself.

i agree with ur friend i hated the dead space demo but the game is very good the same thing with ratchet and clank ACIT demo which nearly made me not buy it and the list goes on like valkyria chronicles awful demo.... but in some cases ur right
