Haven't played online yet, still coming to grips a bit with 1p first, but I'll post info as soon as I'm ready. Just captured my first Great Jaggi!

RolStoppable said: How do I join a quest in online mode? I saw others had already picked a quest, so I went to the quest counter, but all I could do was picking quests on my own. Where is it displayed which quest others are preparing for? |
You've got to click on the bulletin board to the left of the counter.
Edit: Sorry this thread got a lot of replies since I refreshed it.
RolStoppable said: I would have read all your tips in the first few posts, but the OP has so many videos in it that the Wii browser can't load past it. So that's why I have to ask such basic stuff. Btw, is there any sword in this game that is stronger than 154, because there hasn't been added anything for ages. Also, this game is quite bad. It's also good. But then it's bad again. |
If you want new weapons, try the forge and upgrade options at the smithy. The weaponshop is practically useless in this game from my experience.
Weapon shop isn't useless it's just a cheap way to get the starters for most of the weapons, from there you can advance each of them.
But at the beginning, it's best to use your sword and shield and have some nice armor.
Thinking back I remember killing Great Jaggi with the basic sword and shield I was fixated on shield bashing it to death until it died from it.

Yay! No problem, man.
PS: I just fought a Barroth online with another guy, and we got our asses kicked just when he had about 1/10 health remaining. Farewell HR9...

RolStoppable said: I am stuck at two 3 stars quests. Capturing a Qurupeco, I guess I should just weaken it until it flees and then place the trap at the spot it lands. Royal Ludroth, I might have to try out the switch axe for that one. I think that I should play much more like a coward instead of going for a fast victory. Also, I've played online for a couple of hours and took down a royal ludroth with three others, from that I learned to let the beast crawl out of the water in the last area. @Chrizum I was already using the smithy at that point. |
I found the R. Ludroth to be easier with Sword & Shield or Hammer. Cutting his tail and damaging his mane is easy, focus on that. And evade; don't try to land 3~4 hits, run, evade 1~2 hits, repeat.
And you should try to learn his weird patterns as well. He moves sideways a lot when on land, and he constantly hits you with its tail. If you could get a Fire weapon with you, he'd be even easier.
If you're still having difficulties, try this : Make a full set of Piscine Armor. You'll swim like a dolphin :

I strongly recommend using a keyboard and/or WiiSpeak for the online multiplayer. I see so many people online aimlessly running around and buttonbashing, and they just don't communicate. It kind of ruins the experience.
On the bright side, I've already met a couple of nice guys who really get the spirit of the game.
Okay, the OP was updated with more people and a few less videos, Rol let me know if it's works now.
