No, I can (and do) do all that on my PC much easier and faster and I can spreadsheet, word process, powerpoint, database and program. I use my PS3 for games, good games too. Sony is barking up the wrong tree with their adverts if you ask me. Nintendo will continue to win because they do nothing except games. All "It only does everything!" does is make them sound pompous.

As long as they always use the slogan with lighthearted ads, like they have been doing, it doesn't sound pompous so much as "joking exaggeration (but it still does a lot)".

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.

yes, I made waffles on it last night, and today i'm planning on roast beef, I first start by dropping the console on the meat to tenderize it, then I place it on top to sear, and then into the disc drive to roast!

Wrong console, this system doesn't let you know it is preheated with 3 red lights.

They need to bring the DVR thing to NA.

Then i'll vote.

The DVR kit has been out in the UK for years, selling it off for about £30 now which is less than a game, lol. I assume PlayTV counts as a DVR?

For a home entertainment system it pretty much does do everything yes. If it had a personalised media player I'd use it for listening to all my MP3s off, but at the moment PC still wins there. I prefer it for watching films, playing games and watching BBCI player and music videos when my mates are about.

It'd be nice to have youtube and facebook integration alongside the web browser but such is life.

My housemate recently had to sell one of his consoles as he was broke, no one wanted his 360 but there were tons after a PS3, he REALLY regrets selling it too since he used it virtually every day to watch Avis off, left it in our living room most of the time and we'd all watch Avis and DVDs off it.

no, it failed on the media center aspects. It is a power hog, loud (in comparison to the silent PC's you can build), doesn't play Hulu or pretty much any other web based TV very well (either it doesn't play them at all, or you have to have your PC on anyways) and fails to share files with my PC without having to purchase other software despite what it claims. I actually went out and built a HTPC because the PS3 couldn't do what it needed to do.

However, I think the current ad campaign is about 100x better than the one they used at the start of the generation with the morphing PS3.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

It still doesn't cook my steaks thoroughly. Damn grill keeps burning the outsides while leaving the insides raw!

The PS3 cooks steaks rare and only rare...if you can't handle that buy a foreman! :=P

-- Nothing is nicer than seeing your PS3 on an HDTV through an HDMI cable for the first time.

Yes , believe it does, I play videogames, Watch DVDs, Watch Blurays , Stream Netflix, go on the Internet, Download Movies, demos, etc from PSN. Store music and photos , Listen and watch them, Do video chat with friends , Take photos with the PS camera, system link with my PSP, anywhere as long as there is a internet connection, I have live in California, traveled to Texas, and access all my games, game saves and everything on my PSN account , right on to my PSP. Play the best video games out, All this on one 300 system, Hell yes I would say it keeps it slogan real and does EVERYTHING.

It honestly does do a whole shitload of stuff...most people probably don't know all of the features.
