As long as I get my high-budget, games---and by this you mean short, badly controled, eye candy

LoL this thread should be locked as the OP can careless what others think. Is funny because he feels he is stating the obvious when his failing to seee the obvious that the Wii is still selling like Hot cakes and will continue to do so for some time. The Wii is here to stay so get over it.

I was just saying the 4 GameCubes as joke. If you seriously think I think that is what nintedo would do, or what-not... yeah. I do think that when console sales start to drop, as they will when PS3/360 prices continue to slide down. Now I'm not saing be cheaper than the Wii. But as their prices keep comming down, the same type of games start showing up on the PS3/360, look better, just becuase of the HD, it's going to be an impressive battle for the Wii. And it's gonna be a hard one. That is when I think Nintendo will release a new, likely more online 'centric' Wii based platform, that will surpass the Wii in most ways, yet, still remain a Wii at heart, and then bring it into the market aimed more at gamers, and due to the mass market, game designer support, and overall market support, the Wii will win the battle once and for all, without the Wii at all. You guys speak of the Wii winning this generation. The PS2 outsold the X-box+GameCube 2 to 1. The Wii managed that last week, for once. The Wii is far from the domination of sales as the PS2, and when I say that, the 360, and PS3, are growing in a percentage of sales compared to the Wii. That means that the Wii is loosing weekly console sales market share. What does that mean? if anything the Wii is already loosing it's #1 console sales spot. In the long term, the Wii will die down. Overall it's what I've been saying since july. Wii-Failure begins 2008. :) And now I give my laptop to my wife to watch some porn or something.

Truely, the money comes from game sales, NOT console sales. Sony makes 5$ for every game sold (roughly) same with microsoft. Here is my point. When Nintendo bombs down to 0 games sales, people will stop buying the consoles, when people stop buying games and consoles agian, nintendo stops making money. While sony, and microsoft who loose money on their consoles initally, make it all back 20fold. I hate to say it, but blue ocean already looks like a failure to me. Nintendo is winning, they are makeing ALOT of money. But no-one else can touch the Wii, and make good money. Wii 3rd party has been going down hill, and my point is, Wii 1st party, isnt growing NEAR as fast as I would have thought it would have.

Hmm... I was trying to get rid of the Nintendo games but no luck.  But three 3rd party 1m+ games, GH3 will be there very shortly, and Trauma Centre, Tiger Woods, Cooking Mama and DQS are all making a ton of profit with .5m sales and counting.  Now yes, compared to 360 this is anemic, but 360 has been out for 2 years, not one and you might remember everyone complained about 360's lack of games and sales in the 1st year. 

Then there's Sony. Sony is bleeding not only from console sales but also from game sales too.  Due to the high development cost, it is estimated by analysts they need close to 1m in sales to break even.  That means Sony is lossing money on almost every game they have released thus far.  So has every 3rd party exclusive. 

I think Nintendo is very happy with where they are right now. Profitable.  Very very profitable now and for the forseeable future.

Yet at the same time it's nothing short of terrifying...

Oh wow. The Wii will fail because it isn't outselling two consoles combined.

You clearly contradict yourself when you say Wii will die down due to bad graphics and bad online when you don't even give a reason why the PS2 won.

Also wii isn't losing market share. In fact by outselling it's competition it is gaining some. You can't group PS3 and 360 together because they are competing against each other, not just the Wii. 

 I would just like to point out really quick, that the games that I play, are NOT short, and they are definatly not badly controled.

Go play the Drakes Fortuine demo. 

Wii sales should be a wake up call for the whole industry. Out with the old ways and in with the new.
