Played some Cursed Mountain (finally) for the first time today.
I did not find it scary scary, probably due to being jaded by watching way too many horror movies way back. (Not much of a horror fan now.)
The battle music does give a quick adrenaline rush for the battles. I am guessing this rush will diminish as I play more.
What strike me instantly is the lack of Nintendo magic. There seem to be lacking in things that I could not put my finger on.
The movement is meh. Running is like... jogging. It almost feel like playing a PS1 game to me.
The battle system is... awkward. It works but it seems to be missing something.
There was 1 instant where I was in a tight space and couldn't see where to attack.
The enemies are slow as your walking, which makes it possible to easily run away.
Overall, the atmosphere is good, but the gameplay mechanics could kill it if you couldn't put up with.
However, it's holding my interest to continue playing again. I think I just finished chapter 2.
