The best is yet to come since launch...

While I believe them, many good games can come up to the audience who owns this console, the only thing I see on charts is PSP hardware and software going down and down...

Yeah, and we all know sales = quality :/

jeeez, some nintendo fans on this site annoy me...

Where did he say sales = quality?

I'll believe it when I see it.

I really wish Sony would just give up on the portable market and focus on PS3. After all, they were kings of the industry with the PS1 and PS2 when they had no hand-held...

Let's be honest though, who else managed to reach Sony's level of success against the DS with their PSP besides Apple with the iPhone?

yea it's like people seem to think that just because the DS is so much more in the market that Sony need's to give up?

that's like saying, O'l wow were 3rd so let's just give up because were not 1st place.

Can sony and developer's make money on software sale's?

Well there is still new software being made for the PSP an not just by 1st party but also 3rd party also ,so i guess so, now that there is PSN, PSP mini's, and new mini ver of PS3 game's being ported to the PSP

I guess it's doing well enough to keep getting support.

you do not have to be 1st to be a success!

Best of the PSP still to come, lol!

I think its a pile of PR bull to be honest. What could Sony possibly do to trump its past releases I buy maybe 2 PSP games a year and to be honest the software catalog has lacked luster ever since the release of the PSP. I think the best of PSP will be the next PSP which I expect to be revealed at E3 2010.

As for the PSP being a success, no other handheld has ever captured that percentage of the handheld marketplace from Nintendo. GameGear , NeoGeoPocket no handheld has ever broken Nintendo's stone cold grip on the handheld market. Sure the I-Pod is shattering PSP's software market share but the hardware sales make up for that.

I expect Sony to abandon the PSP this fall in favour of the next PSP. The software sales just aren't their and Sony and its third party supporters will not maintain software support for the PSP once a successor launches! If the best is still to come then this will be Sony's swan song their final push before the end of PSP!

so let me get this straight, you think just because Sony will release the PSP 2 or what ever they would dump the support for the PSP?

that is quite funny, because how would the PSP 2 differ in it's software distribution than not connecting to PSN and not download software?

unless you think those developer's are no longer, going to make the new PSP software to be incompatable with old PSP's which I would doubt very much.

It would make no sense to do that what so ever!

Even if sony released a New PSP the software that's released would still work on the old PSP, why because there is over 50 million PSP user's, if your a developer you want the greatest chance to sell software. just because the PSP is not first and most likely never will .

Nintendo has that market pretty Solid and has been 1st pretty much ever since they made Handheld's, does not mean other's cannot be a Success in the same market.

the mere fact that Sony has been able to sell that many handheld's in the MARKET is sure fire a Success, and yea you can alway's strive to be better but Nintendo has quite a lead on any new handheld that come's along into the Market.

Dang. With only 10 games, I'd probably think the PSP lineup sucks too!

I only have like 5 or six games. I only bought the PSP like two or three years ago. While I have like 15-20 DS games and huge amounts of 360 and Wii titles!

exactly his point.. if you had bought more PSP games maybe just maybe you would like ita  bit more..

same goes to me..

Dude, You forget that Sony sold over 200 million units of hardware, PSX and the PS2, before the launch of the PSP and had a tremendous amount of 3rd party support. No other console manufacturer that competed in the portable market with Nintendo had that kind of success. Secondly, the PSP recieved more attention and more favorable praise from the gaming press at E3 than the DS phat. Thirdly, the PSP has had more third party support than any other portable system that has ever competed in that market against Nintendo. That's a tribute to Sony's success with the PSX and PS2.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

It doesn't matter. Even the best of the best is not going to sell.
Software sales in the west are a catastrophe for the PSP.
Not a single piece of software could save it now.

They're just saying with pretty words that there is not going to be a PSP2 this year - even though they NEED it.

I have to ask this:

why is it when it seem's to be a Sony product..that it alway's need saving?

even with a PSP 2 , how is that the PSP need's saving?

Software sales in the west are a catastrophe for the PSP.

an yet more software keep's getting made for the PSP!

since when does a system need saving when it still get's good support?

its funny the people who say "a new PSP is coming soon!" have been saying that since 2006.

even if it does, it's not like the old psp will stop getting support, the fact that all

that's All psp's can download software from the PSN mean's they will keep getting software.

the PSP slim was more advanced than the PSP 1000, or 2000, the PSGo is more advanced than the slim PSP,  but yet the PSP 1000 and PSP 2000 can still gon on the PSN and download game's that the PSPGo get's to play.

A PSP is still a PSP!
