Hey guiz, I need some reccomendations for a game that is simillar or as good as Professor Layton series....Any help is much appreciated

Hmm. Have you tried the Ace Attorney games? They're not extremely similar, but the experience you get from them is kind of comparable to the Layton games. And they're really good, too. There's a lot of puzzles, searching for clues, similar point-and-click gameplay, making decisions and dialogue with NPC's involved, too. Great storylines and interesting characters! I highly recommend them!

You should play all of them, because the stories are linked together...even the second series, started with Apollo Hustice, has important links to the first trilogy...so probably you should start from the beginning, from the first game, which is already great (probably the 2nd just after Trials and Tribulations).

Other than Ace Attorney series there's something, I tried Time Hollow, good game, but PW is better (and longer).

Well, the 1st and the 3rd ones are generally considered to be the best, but the series does follow a (loose) chronological timeline and overall story. Not like any of the games'd be unplayable if you hadn't played the one before it, but imo it would still be better to start from the beginning, if you're going to play them. It'll definitely improve the overall experience, and you'll understand a lot of things better.

So Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (1) would be the best place to start. Justice For All (2) is generally considered to be the 'worst' of the series, but that's simpy because the others are better. It's still a very good game, imo.

So I say start with the original. Then, if you like it, you can move on to the others and enjoy the series in (chrono)logical order.

I would say, go back and play all the LucasArts SCUMM games. The original 'Adventure' point and click games. They do not have the 'brain teaser' aspects (word puzzles and such), but they're more focused on using items and visual puzzles on the screen to progress through a story. Sort of the secondary aspect of the Professor Layton games aside from the main Puzzles.

TellTale is a company that is currently making a lot of these types of games, but thoe older LucasArts SCUMM games are the most famous. Stuff like Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Sam and Max hit the Road, Maniac Mansion, Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, The Dig, etc.

I think you will probably like the game 'Broken Sword' for DS. It is a point and click game like Layton, and has many built in puzzles that must be solved to advance the story. Broken Sword was an immensely popular PC game in the '90s and it was ported to Wii and DS last year. It is a great game if you haven't already played it.

Another game that is on my rader is Secret Files:Tunguska which releases for the DS at the end of March. It appears to be a point and click adventure with many puzzles along the way.

The Layton series is my favorite series on the DS, I just got Diabolical Box last week and I'm 20 hours into the game already-- what a great blend of mini-games, puzzles, riddles, ect. I really liked the tea, hamster, and camera mini-games. I haven't found another game like Layton on the DS, but I am actively looking for games like this on the PC.

Good news is that Layton has 2 other games that are in Japan and haven't been brought to NA yet. Also, there is supposed to be a Layton game released for cell phone.

Oh, I totally forgot about this, but you really ought to try Hotel Dusk, too!
It's a nice little gem of a game, really nifty story, great characters and interaction, and interesting puzzles and problems to solve. I love that game, and it's got a type of gameplay similar to the Layton games and the aforementioned Ace Attorney games.
