5-2 can be 1.

A teacher "proved" it in a class, but I have bad eyes and couldn't see shit in the shalkboard.

It probably involved dividing by zero.

dude in that case, it must be awesome to have chuck norris as a teacher...

Err, no it's cheating the laws of mathematics when anyone besides Chuck Norris does it.  That would be what happened in that scenario.  When Chuck Norris divides by zero, math doesn't fall apart like it does when anybody else does.

3 does equal 2*!

(for large values of 2)

And before this week that stupid Girls = Evil proof was old, now that I've seen it in at least three threads in the last week, it's now ranked worse than WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP.  Find a new joke.

It precedes "WAAAAAAAAAAAAASUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP" by at least a decade.

Actually, if anyone feels like laughing as some old bad math, there's always this.

I wish they still had the full phone call but it looks like YouTube took down the full one so there's only a shortened one.  Oh well, at least we still have this:

-edit-

Nevermind, here's the full phone call.  Always good for a laugh.

A few years back we listened to that in math class during AP week (there were like 5 people in class that day thanks to the Psych and English III AP exams), and died laughing.  It's absolutely pathetic how little math people know.  Although, Mr. XKCD was pretty cruel there.  I mean, it's brilliant, but you don't learn about series until Calc 2 and I never learned about the whole e^(iPi) = -1 thing until differential equations.  Even if the person who recieved the check was decently proficient at math, they're still screwed.
