Forums - General - Apple how has 19% of the handheld gaming market.

@mrstickball. The reason why it might not happen in other fields is because in that media the only person Apple was really competing with was themselves.

Doesn't change the fact that when they made the switch, they effectively doubled the number of iTunes-available gaming devices.

@Squilliam - Yes, battery life can suck when your playing games, but you can always buy bigger, better batteries. Most phones have replacable cells, which can double or even triple your lifespan.

But not every Ipod is used for gaming

Neither is every PC, but we have a PC section.

Tens of millions of people are playing games on Apple products. Let's let them talk about it here.

There are far too many games to keep track of and no reliable way to track them.

I just mean a place for people to talk about them. I play several iPhone games. It would be great to have a forum. No need to track sales or anything.

I mean how hard is it to just add another forum?

Each game has it's own forum. You could discuss the game in those forums. I need to talk to talonman though about making browsing game specific forums easier.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
In the past we played games. In the future we watch games. - Forest-Spirit

We could make an I-Pod gaming forum (or just merge PSP, DS, etc. into one portable gaming forum) but would i-pod gamers actually have anything to say?

Given that there are forums like TouchArcade and PHandroid that are as large, or larger than VGC, I would say 'yes'.

I never said that Nintendo would give up making hardware. I just said that it would pass the rubicon from being a dedicated gaming platform, and instead have more features like a Smartphone. For example, Nintendo could easily release a Nintendo DS-style phone running on the AndroidOS with a Nintendo Market on it for their gaming titles. At that point, I think we'd have a device that was certainly bluring the lines between what Nintendo is now (souly hardware and software) and becoming more services-oriented through a market system.

Okay then.  Let's do this!

Except for Netflix on the Wii, right?
Or flight times in Seattle on the DS, right?

Nintendo does it just like Sony and Microsoft does. They may be a little behind the curve, but they do it too.
