Forums - Nintendo - Zelda Wii to use Vitality sensor? Miyamoto speaks!

Anyway, I want to see a Resident Evil with Vitality Sensor support. Do it Capcom. I might even forgive you for not releasing RE5 on Wii if you do that.

I can't believe people are actually excited about this. I must be completely out of touch with what Nintendo fans like....

So you cannot praise any Sony Vitality Sensor if they come up with one some years after seeing Nintendo is doing good with it.

One bird down.

Woah, slow down there...

First off, am I not allowed to have a difference of opinion?  If people like it, that's great.  Serioulsy.  Have fun with it.  I just don't get it.  At all.

Secondly, the PS Move isn't for me.  I don't want it.  So, um....not exactly sure what you're all getting at.

You don't get the benefit of being able to program a game to react to mood rather then have to guess the players mood?

It's actually a chance to make some genres legitimitly suspensful instead of "Hah, i knew that was coming."

I understand the possibilities, but I also don't think they will come to pass as great as apparently some think.  I thought the EyeToy had great potential, too, and think its basically a wasted 50 bucks at this point.

As for MY heartrate, its quite rare that I get that emotionally affected by a game that my heartrate goes up.  It's much more likely to go up because my dog wants to go outside so I have to get up for a moment.

Again, if you like it and think it has promise, go all in.  I hope you love it.  I think it looks...well...dumb.  And my original post was just suprise that so many were excited about it.  It's fine that they are, like I said, I must just be out of touch with the majority of Wii fans.

Are you attached to a vitality sensor that you know what your heartrate does while playing?

I really doubt this will happen, if it does it will probably be optional.

Are you?

And by that logic I have to buy every device/add-on/etc. for every console/handheld/electronic device.  Can't I just have an opinion that something looks "not-for-me"?  Are you saying you've never seen a new device come out and said "Wow, the just looks dumb"?  Never?

I'm not forcing my opinion down anyone's throat in the least.  I'm saying I think it looks dumb.  Sorry you don't agree with it.  That's my opinion.

I think you miss my point. You wouldn't know if your heartrate changed by gaming unless you were wearing something like the vitality sensor.

.. It's just me isn't it... This is going to do as well as Wii music did..

I can't be 100% certain, no.  Most people can tell to some degree if they are excited, scared, etc., of if their heart is racing.  Could my heartrate jump 5 beats a minute while playing a video game?  Yeah, i suppose.  But like I said, I "feel" like it changes more just by doing very modest movements (and seeing how many wii games use motion controls....)

And, hey, I could be wrong.  I thought motion controls would be awesome and now I am pretty against them.  Perhaps this could end up being awesome and make me want one.  But right now I think it looks pretty unappealing.

The Vitality Sensor, unless it ends up being a jacket for the Wiimote and not a stupid fingerclip, will NOT be used for Zelda Wii. I can guarantee this 100%.

Think about it. It will definitely already use the Nunchuck. One add-on. And they announced it will require the MotionPlus. That makes two add-ons. Tossing in the Vitality Sensor too? THREE add-ons? No way. It WILL NOT happen, unless they change the form-factor entirely and make it non-bulky.
