Not only did Sony’s God of War III shoot straight to the top of the ELSPA GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 40 this week, it also set a new sales standard for Sony’s violent action series.

The game bettered the week-one sales performance of its PS2 predecessor by 2.65-to-1, despite the fact that the PS3 install base is far smaller right now than the PS2’s was at the time GoWII was released."

God of War III is a big step up from the previous iteration. The series is still not well established in the region, even FFXIII 360 outsold it by 1.4. It's quite possible that Heavy Rain outsold it in the first week.

Well FFXII and GOW2 sold similar amount in PAL. And don't forgot 80% drop this week for FFXIII which is pathetic. I think GOW3 with better legs willl outsell at least 1 version of FFXIII.

The same link says that FFXIII first week was ~3 times bigger. FFXIII 360 was 46% of the total.

I wish i could of got this game the store i pre-ordered it at is going under and they didnt arent recieveing any new games including GOW 3. :( I had the pandoras box version pre-ordered and paid for
