Nintendo luminary Shigeru Miyamoto has confirmed that Pikmin 3's development is "well under way".

The Mario and Donkey Kong creator broke the news to Official Nintendo Magazine following his acceptance of the Fellowship Award at last night's BAFTA games awards ceremony.

"ONM is at the BAFTAs! Miyamoto just told us Pikmin 3 development is 'well under way'," read the Magazine's Twitter page.

As reported earlier, Batman: Arkham Asylum swept up the awards for Best Game and Gameplay at the ceremony, while other notable wins were for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves for Action, Story, Best Use of Audio as well as Best Original Score.
