Forums - Microsoft - Xbox 360 sells for $3,050 on eBay!

As the price tag would suggest, this is not a normal Xbox 360 and as you may have guessed it's got a story behind it which could actually make it the first piece of political gaming memorabilia out there. The Xbox was auctioned off on eBay by the city of Baltimore and is the console that helped kick the then-mayor Sheila Dixon out of office.

The 360 was seized from Dixon's home in 2008 after allegations of embezzlement and it turned out that she actually bought the console with gift cards which were meant for the poor - what a saint. A jury later found her guilty and she resigned from office on 4th February this year and was ordered to carry out 500 hours of community service.

The $3,050 package included a controller and a copy of Need for Speed Carbon. All proceeds went to Youthworks of Baltimore.

LOL
OT: Thats way too much money to pay for an xbox. Especially one without a sweet custom paint job

Long Live SHIO!

I thought 360 owners were poor that's why they can't afford a PS3?

if it's for a good cause many will shell out the money... just look at how well Child's Play does

That's what I thought but the last thing that is is a good cause.
