Today I received an email from NOA that said the following:

Having yet to download SMB (I have the NES cart), this is pretty sweet; a great away to publicize the Wii Shop Channel. Offer expires March 31st.

Already bought SMB, but a cool deal. I wish it was any NES game, or even from a list of games.

Guys if you are getting a free SMB game on VC. Go ahead and download it. To be honest your old NES SMB game might getting close to end of days or heading down that line because it is a pretty old game. Also you can all sell your NES SMB games on ebay or amazon to get money.
