My friend told me it was a good game..

No, and I don't think I will after the abomination that is C&C Red Alert 3.
Seriously, EA has destroyed yet another good franchise, RIP C&C.

Its silly and dumbed down with awkward "comedy" in it and they used a slew of celebrities to pawn it on folks. The tactical elements are nearly gone and you can pretty much win most scenarios (and campaigns) simply by spamming units and shelling away. To me, it almost seems like all the genres of today are being simplified greatly for the benefit of catering to a broader audience. Great for a casual player but bad for those who want depth and challenge in their games (I happen to be one of those).

i AGREE!!!

that is why i love Demon's Souls, and when i do play any game i always go with the hardest difficulty, i don't mind dying a lot, its part of the challenge! ,also people here think i play "frustrating" difficult games thus i get no joy playing them, they're wrong i don't even call games frustrating, if its difficult it will make it more enjoyable once you beat the level.

i really hate when i buy games that are so easy that i get bored doing the same tactics to win them =[

Yup, Mummelmann is right. EA raped one of it's great Franchises again. If you want a RTS that has resources (But limited base building, defense building can be great though), get Company of Heroes. Online support from Relic is almost gone, although they recently patched it. But hey, it still works online & it's one of the deepest RTS's I ever had. Not because the endless variants of units or buildings, but because it actually requires strategy, and unit spamming isn't gonna cut it.

Glad to see I'm not the only one thinking this! Long gone are the days of Baldur's Gate II, Starcraft and Deus Ex.

I played in the beta...

It's quite simple..

It's NOT Command & Conquer.

Command & Conquer games are about fantasticly well executed story lines, bases resource gathering and units that are useful.

I haven't tried the story, but frankly the last really good cnc game was renegade, while the campaign wasn't very good, it had one of the best multiplayer modes of all time.

Ofcourse it was the last game made by westwood.

I mean. At a press conference a guy from EA said (in a answer as to why they decided to drop bases etc) that command & conquer is just about tank rushes..

Nu uh ! ..

Anyways.. From the beta my impression was, build a couple of each units and then build the best units as you gradually unlock them and you'll win. I had no idea what any of my units did but by spamming the best I could get I ended up winning all games I played..

meh :(

Check out my game about moles ^

it was one of my favourite pc games awhile back, i haven't played it in ages though
