Forums - Gaming - Should I throw out all my retro games? 720P is all that matters, right?

The thread on Spliter-Cell: Conviction running less that full 720P causing so many to be disappointed with it and now they aren't going to get it, had got me thinking.  I just realized I like a LOT of games that run below High def, and maybe my tastes are wrong.  Shouldn't I get with it and take a stand to throw out anything that doesn't run full 720P? They aren't high def.  First up, I do a bondfire, and throw my Wii in it.  Then I throw all my PS2 games (well except the few that are FULL 720P), and my XBox games (So long Atari Anthology with 2600 games in it).  I will have to uninstall a bunch of indie games I have on my 360 also.  And the Atari Lynx stuff has to go.  As does my DS, and PSP.

On the plus side, I would get a LOT more space.  I will miss my Capcom Collection games for the PS2 though.  I think the Data East Collection won't be missed.  I didn't think low def would look SO bad... but it does.  ARGH!

Yup, get rid of them all!!  I don't play anything that is less than 1080p and 100fps,  it kinda limits my game library though (to zero)

The dude abides

Not all of them. 3D Dot Game Heroes is 720P hopefully and it's retro.

You could keep that one.

Doesn't matter what it does. If it is 720p that is all that matter now.

Yup.

Now he must throw away MW, MW2, Halo 3, ODST, FFXIII 360, GTAIV, Cancel Splinter Cell pre-order, etc... The list goes on.

Yep, about ALL the games that are sub-720P have to be gone.  Doesn't matter if they look good, and play well.  If they aren't 720P then they must go... right?

And God of War 3 should go also, right?  It was supposed to be full 1080P but isn't, right?  And NOT at 60FPS.  That is all that matters, right?

Nope. You know that 720p is all that matters, so even though GoW3 isn't 1080p it is still native 720p and 40-50FPS.

It survives.

I stick with 1920p. Doing so keeps my pockets full and my eyes pleased. It's a win win.
