Brilliant :) glad its doing so well, it deserves to

Lets hope it shows some strong legs too.

FFXII had mediocre legs and there isnt NA and Others weekly data for FFX so lets hope so :)

End of 2014 Hardware Predictions (03/03/14)

PlayStation 4: 12-15million

Xbox One: 7-10 million

Wii U: 8-9 million (Changed 01/04/2014 from 7-9 --> 8-9 million)

the only data for FFX we have is some vague statement on wikipedia saying it did just less than 1 million in its first NPD (or jsut a little over).

I think for FF XIII it was the right choice by SE for a multi-platform 360/PS3 release. But I think for FF XVI it will be best to stay exclusive.

FF XIII was still designed for the PS2 initially in mind. Focussing on the PS3 with regard to FF XVI can allow for much more technical freedom.

You mean console exclusive, right?  FFXIV will be best played on PC as any MMO will be.

I very much doubt that has to be the case.

Unless the game was designed for console first then ported to PC, and maybe even still then, an MMO will be better suited for PC.

well from what I can see FFX-2 couldn't have had the kind of week 1 FFX did....it didn't have that kind of hype

We know for sure FF12 & FF9 had a lower week 1's than FFX.

FF7 did 350K in its first NPd (but was massive due to word of mouth)

The only thing I find hard to believe is that FF13 bested FF8's week 1

as FF7 was a BREAKOUT SUCCESS

then FF8 was hyped to the heavens like the 2nd coming....especially with the 9.9.9 special date thingy! (in the US anyway).

All speculation aside....its clear the game is a massive sales success.

well FFXIII was definitely hyped for months before its release and the sales for the first week shows, should continue for the next few or GOW3 might take some away (for the PS3 at least).

FF14 will be on 360 once Microsoft and Square have agreed how it will work on Xbox Live.

so ff 13 may be undertracked

The thing is if this game is going to have massive word of mouth like 7 had. Remember all the internet hate coming AFTER the release, it may be just a bad first reaction to innovation, but may be the definitive opinion.
