don't ask this forum. You'll get Sony fans saying yes, and if anyone says no they will be labeled a hater.

My opinion, not my type of game even though I do like Hack/Slash.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

He asked for an opinion, I gave it.  If I came in and said the game blows, get Bayonetta then you would have every right to demand that I be banned for blasphemous speak but I didn't do that.  I made it clear I haven't played the game and just game my honest thoughts which is what he was asking for.

Note that I'm not even saying anything bad about the game or series, I'm just saying:

  1. Why does a game have to be outstanding to get it?
  2. I think Bayonetta is the better game and should give that a go instead (though both are good).  It's fun to branch out every now and then (like I'm even doing with the God of War series).

Sigh, you shouldn't be posting here for the simple fact that you haven't even played through GOW3 (hell I haven't beat it yet but loved what I have played so far), therefore you are the absolute least qualified person to be here.

As for the OP, so far I have loved what I have played. I beat GOW1 all the way through god mode, GOW2 at titan, and currently working on GOW3. As for nordlead, don't ask for his opinion for any PS3 game, if it's Mario or anything related to Ninty, then he's your man :p.

Actually, the least qualified person would be someone who has never played the series.

I'm far enough into the first game where I'm getting a good grip on the series and after talking to a buddy that's playing the third, I'm pretty right on the money about the things I've learned so far.  I'm just waiting until I finish the second one to really go into any opinions and decide if I still think Kratos is lame and if I'll play the third.

The best one is probably demon souls or MAG, Those 2 games are excellent...

Your argument sucks for 2 reasons.

1. You haven't played the game in question you are just basing it off a last gen game and comparing it to a current gen game which is ridiculous because God of War was the originator but the gameplay has been refined since then.  A more fair comparison would be the original Devil May Cry to the original God of War, not the original God of War to the newly refined gameplay of a game by the Devil May Cry guy.

2. Bayonetta and God of War are barely the same type of game.  Bayonetta is much closer to Devil May Cry where you quickly move from enemy to enemy doing moves that usually only keep one busy at a time while God of War is about large sweeping movements that can keep a large number of enemies at once.

I'm not a huge fan of the genre or this particularly series, and I'm enjoying it.

It IS getting a little old that he has to screw or kill EVERY single thing he meets, but well, I don't have that teenage angst in me anymore...

So my opinion-- if you're looking for a God of War type game, get Bayonetta.

 

If your are looking for a god of war type of game you get God of War

if you are looking for a Devil May Cry type of game you get Bayonetta, just because is a hack n slash game it does mean they're the same

if you play a shooters all feel the same but I have played ninja gaiden, devil may cry and darksider they are all total diffrent experience, except for bayonetta and devil may cry they both feel the same. Other games tried to accomplish what god of war did but they fall short, conan, dante's inferno for exemple if you play them they feel more so like god of war but not as good. any how i have never seen a game as epic as god of war in scale and awesomeness, just making a game brutal or having building size enemies won't do.

He asked for feed back from PLAYERS of the game.  That is not you.  And NO playing the first GOW and listening to a few of your friends doesn't make you a player of the game either

On Topic.  The game is great.  It'll win a shit load of GOY awards, and will deserve every one of them
