After reading the reviews of FF XIII and playing it myself, the reviews are not to be trusted and most are bullcrap reasons so when it comes to JRPGs, I'm gonna at least try it out myself before making any judgements.

i usualy go for user reviews on gamespot myself and this game is quite highly viewed so far by players and aside from that its just one review and yes jrpgs have been judged harshly this gen

Like most are saying, JRPGs have been woefully underrated this gen. Lost Odyssey is one of my favorite JRPGs ever, it's highly regarded as a great game amongst most JRPG fans that I know yet it only has a 78 on Metacritic.

I think most reviewers only want one type of RPG to exist: the WRPG and anything that's not that is bad by default.
