Forums - Sony - Should I play GOW I and II before I get GOW3?

The games have a pretty thin story. I would suggest playing the demo of 3. If you think its ok read a summary of 1/2 online and go to 3. If you love it pick up the collection. You can get it new for as little as $30 new if you shop around.From watching others play 1/2 and 3 arent much different (gameplay wise) from eachother(but they all LOOK great). As far as time is concerned 1/2 can be beat in 5-7 hours each  and most are saying 3 is around 9.



Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Well not Long Actually, depending on how much time you have on your hands, Maybe a Week or less, they play real nice and slide right by.

Yes, although it would be possible for you to start from GOW II, GOW didn't leave on a cliff hanger and kind of left the door slightly opened whereas GOW II and GOW III stories are really tied close together because GOW III picks up where GOW II left off.

Yea good call on the demo. Im downloading it right now, if I really enjoy the demo I think I'll pick it up.Basically to become familiar with the gameplay because the story is pretty basic. I dont think I would be lost starting from GOWIII

Yes you should. The GOD OF WAR COLLECTION is better than many next gen games graphics are pretty good also.

GOD OF WAR COLLECTION is better than darksiders, ninja gaiden 2, devil may cry, dante inferno etc.

The story and production values oif GOW 1/2 rivals of some games today.

Play the GOW1 and 2 before played the third.

Yes, buy or rent the collection first.

It would be like watching Return of the King or Return of the Jedi without watching the first few movies. Great movies that hold their own, but the back story is pretty sweet and worth knowing to make the movies more enjoyable.

Play first, you'll be happy you did.
