No, it`s only the start of PS3 Domination,
and yet MGS4, GT5, FFXIII, KZ2, LBP to be released. =))

2009.04.30 - PS3 will OUTSELL x360 atleast by the middle of 2010. Japan+Europe > NA.


Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

After so much negative articles, after having "nextgen" competitors, after having bigger price it`s a great RESULT for Sony.
And it`s only the begining. )

now imagine if MS has a 100 dollar price drop and what that would do

It's cool that the PS3 is putting up decent numbers but once you realize that it's barely scraping past a two year old system that has dropped a whopping $50 during that time while the PS3 has seen three revisions and $100-200 in price drops in 12 months and the numbers lose a little luster.

...

Okay, so they lose a lot of luster. It's still better than not selling at all, though.

Whoops sorry. Someone already posted it . Damn, that makes me happy to finally see the PS3 beat 360 for once. I think after Black Friday its a toss up. If PS3 can atleast come within 30,000 of Xbox in US then it should be beating the 360 for the remainder of the year right? I dont know if that will happen, but no one can predict how sales will increase once people really start their Christmas shopping.

 

We shall see.
