According to the VGChartz front page the America+Others sales add to 220k for 360 and 167k for PS3.  Once the Japan numbers come in, PS3 could well pass up the 360 in worldwide sales.  Sony only needs to sell 53k more PS3s than 360.  Based on last week's Japan numbers, there is a pretty good chance of that.  Last week's numbers only included 1 days sales for the 40GB PS3.

And people have been saying Japan no longer matters... ;P

It's very possible, I just don't know if Japan will sustain last week's numbers. It was a pretty big boost.

Unless Japan numbers went down quite a bit, don't forget last week the 40GB came out in Japan.

YEah, don't think so either. Anyway they getting pretty close and Christmas shopping is starting... will be interesting to see how it develops.

PS: Would be nice if PS3 pushed 70k+ in Japan, it would break 6M worldwide. Anyway, it's pretty much a guarantee PS3 will be close to 7M (or even pass it) by the end of the year.

only 53K is quite a number. If ps3 can do it, respect. finally we get the right kind of tension/drama going on this site.

After price-cut, DC6, white PS3, introduction 40GB version and heavy advertising of R&C it wasn't even capable of reaching 60k so dream on. (45k+ is likely though and it will outsell Wii again in Japan)

But GOD: Have u seen those Wii america numbers?! 250k in 1 freakin week! It's mid of November guys! Rampage! It has begun!
