Is it me, or does it seem like the uncharted engine and the godofwar engine are the same one? Or is it just that they've both reached such a high level of detail and beauty that I am comparing them based solely on looks?

 the attention to detail and the level designs are amazing. I'm not that far into it because of work but the first level really is awesome. When you get to see Kratos up close you can really see how much work they put into this game. I really like how they made the bow not need magic anymore as well.

I agree GOW3 is stunning, I finished the boss fight with hedes, and it was unreal, The game is so silky smooth, graphics are even better then Uncharted 2 , which I really did not think was going to happen, It shows what Sony first party developers are really about. The progress we continue to see with PS3 titles, no other console has done, they all look good , but they look the same. GOW really is a GOTY contender, the only game I see possibly beating it out is Halo Reach.

Man Hades fight was unbelievable. You crack open his skull, drop him into the river styx and then rip out his fucking soul and eat it. That sequence alone blew me away, or at least blew away what was left after a 20 minute fast-paced epic opening.

Not to start a console war or anything but unless microsoft makes the halo reach engine comparable to what sony has been doing (which is impossible due to the 360 technical limits) I dont see Halo reach coming near it....

To be honest if you really think about it.. The best graphic engine on 360 is still the good ol' Unreal 3 engine used in Mass Effect 2 (and gears of war 1)....

No offense to 360 owners but I think they are using Natal to grab the Wii fanbase because they know that now, and down the road, they will be losing their hardcore fan base unless they can start matching the technical power of these new ps3 games..

I think their last attempt to match sony in graphical technology is Alan Wake... I'm not going to make further judgements till that game comes out.

Heavy Rain was a work of art...like playing a murder mystery....GoWIII is a technical marvel as well as an EPIC conclusion to a fantastic tale.

Though I am a HUGE ancient history fan, especially Greek and Roman history so this game is like icing on the cake for my tastes

its by far the best looking game ive seen on console , the disc alone is 35 gigs its epic all over the place .

it has nothing to do with art direction on how these visuals are achieved its all about the bluray the cell and gpu combined it achieves something i have never seen

I have to say I also agree, PS3 and the cell is unreal, the best gamming has to offer at this time, Notice with PS3 we still see major upgrades on graphics. on every game that comes out, you dont get that with the 360, and I dont mean any disrespect to the machine, I own one and really enjoy it also, but the PS3 just blows my mind on all levels all the time.

Playing the game now...after fighting Poseidon and the way I killed him. This game instantly shot up in my top 5 games of this console generation.
