It doesn't really mean anything because video game development cycles are not the same amount of time. Some games take a year to make while other (including the last guardian) take 3 or 4 years to make. That's like me writing a script and then someone reading it and taking the idea and making a movie and then when I decide to make my script into a movie they say they didn't copy it because their movie came out first. It doesn't matter when a final build of something is released.
