lol. I wouldn't exactly say Sony "won" considering they lost their biggest 3rd party exclusive here. :P

I myself have a handful of friends with 360s who say that they've never even played ANY FF game in the past and have no interest in them, where as most PS3 owners have played them from FF7, if not earlier. M-Soft were most likely cacking in their pants worrying about precious sales. A typical case of "if you cant beat the opposition, criple them".....the usual cowardly move. In my opinion, Sony dont need to advertise with such a big franchise because the loyal fanbase are already on the ball and are eagerly waiting, and i'd say the same for GoW3, Sony probably will advertise their mighty exclusive...but do they really need to???? |
You don't pay for exclusive advertising, you just fund the advertising yourself. A subtle difference, but important because its less shady overall. You're not saying "hey, i'll give you $10 million to cut that PS3 splash from your commercial" it's "i'll pay for this line of advertising for you," which 3rd parties gladly accept even with their most important properties

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Well, i'm considering everything that has happened since E3 2008. They lost at that time because they deserved: expensive console, expensive game development, low user base, grim future prediction. Consider the present situation only. The wind is blowing on favor of Sony.

maybe because microsoft paid for it
a developer can't do that, to multiplatform game unless microsoft paid for their ads.
if SE paid the ads , then both version should get ads, it helps them either way since people are going to buy the game for both consoles.
it's stupid not to do so, if they did, well that confirms it.
