Epic Games' Mark Rein has said that the Gears of War developer wont be releasing a game this year but instead said the company would be supporting games made by customers of its Unreal Engine.

"We don't have any games coming out in 2010," said Rein, "so from a games standpoint, it's more about our customers' games, right? Already this year we've seen some pretty great games this year -- Mass Effect 2, BioShock 2... and Arkham Asylum's coming out in 3D, th GOTY version, so that'll be kinda cool."

While no new games are coming out this year, a new game could be announced at E3 in June, as hinted at by Epic boss Mike Capps. 

"We might have a new one coming. I think E3 is going to be very exciting for fans of Epic," Capps said.

Well, so much for Gears of War 3 this year.

Meh, gamers are still loaded with amazing games this whole year any ways so -1 game aint that bad.

Oh please be a new Unreal game that doesn't suck. The last one came out in 2004, it's about time.

Uh, I thought their EA Partners game was already confirmed for this year?   Gears of War 3 and Shadow Complex 2 should be 2011.

Maybe they don't consider it an Epic game, but a People Can Fly game?

Looks like 360 will just have to suffer through the holiday with Halo: Reach and Fable III. Not that that's exactly a bad position to be in.

So at E3, when they finish their lackluster show, the host walks off stage and then stops and says, "Oh. One more thing.....", Gears of War 3 is going to be announced. Is that what they're trying to say?
