Eurogamer Review: 8/10

"At times you'll have no doubts that this is the best JRPG of the generation, a fast-paced, interesting and creative detour from a stagnant mainstream. At other moments, usually when facing the tenth Game Over screen during a difficult boss battle, you'll wonder whether the game suffers from poor balance, born from its developer's stubborn insistence on novelty for the sake of it.

Either way, by the end of the adventure you'll be certain that Resonance of Fate's approach is a one-time affair, unlikely to inspire any copycats. Its ideas are simply too leftfield, and too fully realised to be closely imitated.

Nevertheless, this is a hugely interesting game, as fascinating as it is frequently frustrating, as engaging as it is eccentric and, for those who are hooked by its quirky charms, it will provide one of the most inspired approaches to the JRPG seen in a decade."

i don't get the bolded... so they gave it a minus because it might be copied and is unique?

no? there just pointing out that RoF is unique that, you would have to be a fool to try and  copy it and think you can get away with it.

I'll be spending most of my time customizing my characters' looks... and their weapons :D

Good review, satisfying enough.

Its annoying to see Resonance of Fate constantly being knock down because of difficulty... its such a subjective subject

customization is always addictive in tri-Ace games, i Xxpect no less in RoF

Wasn't expecting much out of this other than a decent RPG. Glad to see I was wrong. Just wish I wasn't so preoccupied with all the other March releases this time of year.

Currently playing: Marvel vs. Capcom 3, League of Legends

Bravo, its a One-of-a-kind game unique to itself, thats what i like. tri-ace does it again.

In the last days I got myself Batman:AA, Demon's Souls, Street Fighter IV, Final Fantasy XIII and on Friday I'll be delivered God of War III. I won't have any money or time to get Resonance of Fate any time soon, but I'll defenitely get it on the second half of the year.
