Forums - Nintendo - Level 5 working on 'extremely anticipated' new game

Even if those IPs are owned by SCEJ or S-E, the soul of those games pretty much belongs to Level-5, and so far they have released 1 PS3 game, 1 PSP game, 0 Wii games, 2 PS3 games coming, 2 PSP games coming and 1 Wii coming, which I think will be Inazuma Eleven Break (save bet).

It's pretty obvious you guy's are hoping that it is a Wii game.

I personally hope for Ninokuni or any collaboration with Studio Ghibli for the PS3, simply because I think it would be great so the see the FMVs in HD, but Level 5 has probably looked at what sells well on both the Wii and PS3, and maked there decisions based on that.

Repeating nonsense or using a logic that favours you favourite console at the end isn´t going to give you the game.

Actually, they have at least 2 Wii games (DQX too), and more likely 3 (Nunokuni and Inazuma Eleven Break are both strongly rumored for Wii, both are actually announced for "a console").  They also have Ushiro for PSP.  So for upcoming L5 games we have a good idea about, it's...

DS: 6 games (6 owned/selfpublished)

Wii: 3 games (2 owned/selfpublished, 1 contracted)

PSP: 2 games (2 owned/selfpublished)

PS3: 2 games (1 owned/selfpublished, 1 contracted)

...now personally, I suspect that IE Break and Ushiro PSP have both been canned.  I think that "Sengoku Baseball Team" trademark will probably be their Wii sports RPG to replace Break (makes sense with the Wiimote) and given the timing of the trademark leak, it's probably their April reveal. And also for some reason, I just can't get "Ushiro PS3" out of my head. :/

@jarrod: They've got WKC 1 and 2 as contracted PS3 games, but if we go for officially announced, there's just 1 Wii game and 1 PS3 games that are being selfpublished, but we have no idea what they are yet. Also do we officially know if L5 is making DQX?

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Well, the selfpublished Wii/PS3 games isn't even official official.  Hino never said how many either, we don't know if it's one each, just that they selfpublishing games on PS3 and Wii in the future. It could be one each, multiple for each, or some variation.

SE hasn't said on DQX yet either, but c'mon... we all know it's going to be L5 again.

Yeah, seems kind of obvious that L5 will be making DQX, but until it's official we won't know. Truth of the matter is that L5 hasn't officially announced or released any Wii game yet. I bet they will, but so far they haven't.

Well sure, if we're going by "official official" specific game announcements, then it's...

DS: 5 games (5 owned/selfpublished) *Layton 6 is still unofficial

PSP: 2 games (2 owned/selfpublished)

PS3: 1 game (0 owned/selfpublished, 1 contracted)

"tba console": 2 games (2 owned/selfpublished)

I'd say Inazuma Eleven Break

Dude you are biased as hell.

It strongly been rumored that Level 5 isn't devoloping DQX at all, and there aren't rumours about a possible Ninokuni Wii, just guy's like you and Soriku that keep repeating it here and in Neogaf that it's likely a Wii game.

So far we have only heard that Level 5 is devoloping one unannounced Wii game (1), one unannounced PS3 game and WKC2

WKC+WKC2+ 1 unannounced level 5 PS3 game = 3

1 unannounced Wii = 1

3/1

lol.  You calling me biased as hell?  I don't think the world can take that much irony. ;)

Also, let's take a moment to your "facts" straight...

1) There's been no credible rumors that Level-5 isn't developing DQX.  If there are then point us to them.

2) Nunokuni's original announcement stated the game was for "Nintendo DS and tba console".  At it's unveiling Hino also revealed it started out as a console game, the DS version was decided on later, even though development priority would be shifted to the latter.  Then at the L5 vision event last fall, they reconfirmed the console version was still coming, but it would come after the DS release in spring/summer 2010.

Now, out of all the consoles, which one do you think a family friendly, super mainstream, Ghibli co-produced, DQ inspired RPG, where you cast spells by literally waving a wand, would be the most likely to be on? ;)

3) Hino said they have their own projects in the works for Wii and PS3, no event hint at how many. Saying 1 Wii and 1 PS3 is pure conjecture on anyone's part, the truth is we just don't know.

4) I said upcoming games.  If you want to include past titles (official only), then it's...

DS: 18 games (17 owned/selfpublished, 1 contracted)

PSP: 3 games (2 owned/selfpublished, 1 contracted)

PS3: 2 games (0 owned/selfpublished, 2 contracted)

"tba console": 2 games (2 owned/selfpublished)

so...just a thought...but wouldnt it be funny if it turned out to be a 360 game....
