Do you take your games out of your console after each play session?
I always do. I have since I had my Atari when little. My father always said I had to, so it become a habit. Although, I never really knew why or if it really matters.

No...that's silly.
There might have been a point on the Atari or cartridge based consoles where you had the cartridge sticking out and could be damaged, but there's not really much a point in any of the newer consoles.
well like I said it is just a habit now. When I was putting up Wii Sports Resort today it came to my mind because I took apart the motion plus from the Wii mote. Put the game in the case then put it all in the box it came in including putting the little paper with directions back in the motion plus cover. Took that put it on my shelf. Put my Wii mote back in the normal size cover put it in my box for all my Wii controllers.

This pretty much. Some times I will take a game out if I know I won't be playing it as my next game, but right now Bad Company 2 could have been built into my PS3 for all I care (until wednesday of course).
Like above, only when I want to play something else. And when I have finished the game and don't plan on replaying right away.
errr
especially for cartridges, leaving them in protected the console from dust.... (well not the NES)
Anyways, why do it now when you may have to put back in the same game next time you turn it on???
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
When I was younger, I'd disconnect my entire NES and put it in a drawer whenever I wasn't playing it. I'd tie up the controllers, and put the games in order, too. Did I mention that I was a geek? Yeah. Then, I'd just look at it and think of how awesome it was.
Nowadays, I just put up the controllers. I take the game out of my 360 most of the time, though. I've had two failed disc drives in two years and I'm not sure if leaving a game in the 360 while I watch a movie or listen to music had anything to do with it.
I eject my games all the time from my PS3 for few reason:
- i like to keep them in their case like i do with dvd/blu ray movies, i dont like an empty case lol
- less confusing as i always open up the box case first to take out the game that i want to play before checking if there's a game in the console
- incase it YLOD on me, i wouldnt want to send in my PS3 to Sony with my game/movie inside incase i want to play/watch it on a different PS3 (ex. a friend's house)

If you have a 40 GB you can still get it out. I did it with my mom's PS3 when it YLOD'ed.
