Really? past FFX? wow that i hope for as i played about 300 hours on FFX and counting! so if FFXIII ends up being my next FFX i will be oh so happy :D yeah i agree its better than all the PS FFs, and yeah the music is better than FFXII even though it wasnt done by Nobuo Uematsu which intrigues me, have they got a composer better than Uematsu?... has hell frozen over?

Masashi Hamauzu is the person who helped Uematsu make the FF10 soundtrack

some of the tracks he made for FFX are amazing

But with FFXIII he shows amazing talent, I wouldn't say the soundtrack in FF13 is better than the PS1 FF soundtrack though, probably better than FF8 though.

I think FFXIII should at the least tie with FFX

The things FF13 has over FF10 are battle system, characters & story.

But on the other hand FF10 has towns (I must admit I miss them a bit), better music & better villains

but hey I'm still only on chapter 10, I say only as some people claim Chapter 11 is the "half way" point.

ahh that makes sense i thought it was quite Uematsu-esk. yeah the battle system is awesome, its so much smoother and easier to use than any other FF or even StarOcean. Characters and story are really good aswel. However the crystarium system... i dont know i think i preffered the SphereGrid and Seymour was awesome as a villain. Towns... i actually dont mind them not being there, i thought it would really bother me but its good without them IMO :)

im on Chapter 7 just and its definitely the best so far.

Well, I havent played FFXIII yet but I really enjoyed FFXII, I thought it was an awesome game even if people hate it, so even if I consider FFXII better than XIII it wouldnt be a bad thing for XIII, but I hope I enjoy it even more.

FF13 is a great game but only after chapter 8. Square enix needs to rethink there story telling and let people relax a bit between chapters like every other FF game they made. That what threw the reviewers off and shit it even threw me off aswel. In the first 15 hours of this game all I could think of was all the changes they made and the linearity of the game. Like no leveling in numbers for example 1-100, no gil after fights and the leveling caps. In old FF games if you couldn't beat a boss you run off and level up a bit more until your stronger. This game caps you off at a certain point until you defeat a boss.

i'm on chapter 9 right now and so far i would say it is in my top 5 final fantasies. definetely the best battle system in the series.

my top 5 right now. 1. uncharted 2 2. assassin's creed 2 3. god of war 3 4. final fantasy xiii 5. blue dragon: awakened shadow.

FF XII pwns FF XIII. this posting is now over. Move along people. go on to another posting or forum

The battle system alone in FFXIII is way better than the abomination FFXII was.

the best battle system??!! hitting the "a" button, wait for charge, hit ''a'' button again, wow, that an awesome battle system

Better? I think so. Far better? Goodness, no. FFXII was an amazing game.

In FFXII all you did was set up the gambit and let the characters do the rest without you touching a single button. Wow, what an amazing combat system >_>

yes, FFXII's battle system was practically automatic you didn't have to do anything to win a battle. FFXIII's battle system is what you make it, you can just press X the whole way through but you wont win the battles later in the game its a path to easy defeat, auto battle is good at the start but as the game progresses it gets pretty useless apart from against weak enemies which again is good so you can get the battle out of the way, quickly to move onto to something better and more challanging.
